Commercial Description:
From a true "city of neighborhoods" we offer our take on a "biere de mars, " or a ruddy farmhouse ale. In true Philadelphia fashion, European and American ingredients are melded into a complex, ruby ale with flavors of toasted malt and rye. It's the perfect accompaniment for some quality time enjoyed in the backyard (or on the front stoop) of your urban farmhouse.

Bottle from oak tree. Pours a mahogany body with a thin white head. Sweet and malty with earthy tones and rye. Sweet simple minerals and malt. Grainy, very drinkable as i demolish this glass. Lightly spiced with ginger. Solid brew.

On tap at Earth. Beautiful clear copper with a rich, frothy, well-lacing beige head. Fruity and malty aroma with spice, toast, maple, and burnt rubber. Spicy and clean taste, with ginger, apple, clove, peach, bread, and some weird plastic notes throughout. Good brew, but seems a bit off.

12oz bottle, form Capone’s (Norristown, PA). Pours chestnut color, topped with a moderate sized beige head. Aroma is primarily caramel malt, with some citrus, peat, rye, brown sugar and yeast. Aroma is more exciting than the flavor. Caramel hits the palate first, and is soon joined by grapefruity hops and some rye. Rye and peat flavors linger. Decent, sessionable ber.
