Wasn’t too impressed by this, flavor was roasted, chocolate, malt , and some licorice. Beer didn’t go down to easy, Alcohol was quite easy to notice, and pales in comparison to other RISes. checkmatei1 (630), Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, USA

| 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Apr 14, 2009 Draft at Craft Ale. This one pours onyx with deep brown head. Nose is dark choc, coffee, molasses, heavy dark malt. The nose was great, and I partook of its greatness for a few minutes. The palate was smooth as sik, with nary a sign of spirity heat, and flavors of dark patent malt, chocoff, molasses, cacao, nuts, figs, and slight blackberry. This one was outstanding, and I will rate it again ASAP, because the conditions were not ideal, but this one just might have a chance to become one of my extremely select perfecto robustos. Flavor is bold and roasty with some alcohol, coffee, and maybe a hint of oak. Very in your face, but not as well crafted as I would desire. kkearn (1010), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
