Draft(pin) @ Hulmeville Inn. Dark pour, wth some brown head. Wasn’t too impressed by this, flavor was roasted, chocolate, malt , and some licorice. Beer didn’t go down to easy, Alcohol was quite easy to notice, and pales in comparison to other RISes.

Draft @ Capone’s (Apr ’09): Poured a dark black color with a nice head. The aroma was roasted malts, coffee, dark chocolate, and vanilla. The flavor was smooth, dark choc, coffee, and roasted nuts. Overall, an awesome brew from the PBC.

Draft at Craft Ale. This one pours onyx with deep brown head. Nose is dark choc, coffee, molasses, heavy dark malt. The nose was great, and I partook of its greatness for a few minutes. The palate was smooth as sik, with nary a sign of spirity heat, and flavors of dark patent malt, chocoff, molasses, cacao, nuts, figs, and slight blackberry. This one was outstanding, and I will rate it again ASAP, because the conditions were not ideal, but this one just might have a chance to become one of my extremely select perfecto robustos.

Blackish in color with alot of roast, coffee, and dark chocolate in the nose. Flavor is bold and roasty with some alcohol, coffee, and maybe a hint of oak. Very in your face, but not as well crafted as I would desire.

Draft, at Capone’s (Norristown, PA). Pitch black pour, capped with a modest sized brown head. Aroma is primarily roasted malt, with notes of chocolate and espresso. Flavor begins with bitter chocolate, which is complimented by coffee, mild hops, vanilla, and some oak. Finishes is primarily bittersweet chocolate. Solid effort from PBC. Bitter chocolate, coffee, some hops Bittersweet chic finish, with a hint of oak

Draught at Capone’s: Aroma of chocolate, vanilla, and roasted malts. Poured black in color with a medium-sized, creamy, tan head that lasted throughout. Opaque. Good lacing. Flavor is lightly sweet and lightly bitter. Tastes of bitter coffee, chocolate, roasted malts, wood, and slight burnt malts. Medium body. Tingly, chalky texture. Average carbonation. Roasted malt and slight chocolate finish is bitter-sweet. A pretty average RIS. Nothing really stuck out about it.

Poured an opaque black color with a medium sized tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast, smoked malts, vanilla, coffee, and a bit of toast. Taste of smoked malts, roast, dark fruits, some caramel, and cocoa, with a bit of alcohol in the finish as well.
