The aroma is citrusy and floral with small notes of wet leather and black pepper. The flavor is well-balanced with a nice hop bite. Medium-bodied and lightly creamy with lively carbonation. Crisp, mildly bitter finish. Refreshing. joss (3673), Garching b. München, Germany

Red amber, no head. Pretty neutral and boring taste. jgb9348 (2502), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA

Aroma of caramel, nice bright hops, malt and some raisins-nice! Light-bodied; Sharp hop flavour up front with subtle malt and a light sweetness of caramel. Really, nothing in the aftertaste but a little cardboard maltiness. Overall, not the worst-but exactly what you’d expect from an amber! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased at Norm’s in Vienna, Virginia on 28-August-2004 on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. zach8270 (2108), Henrietta, New York, USA

Very floral and hoppy aroma with hints of grass, coriander and some citrus. The taste was slightly less hoppy than I would’ve expected from an amber ale. Nicely balanced between the hops and malt, with a decent little hop kick at the end. Very good session beer. MilkmanDan (1940), Eagan, Minnesota, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 11, 2004 Not particularly amber, pours to a more traditional IPA-esque vaguely hazy copper. Nose is hoppy, not too many malts. Flavor has some hops but not too much of a malt backbone. nearbeer (1834), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA

Clear, shiny copper-orange with a medium-sized and lasting head. Slight aroma of spicy caramel. Flavors of toasted nut and peppery spicy caramel. Great balance. Light-medium bodied and smooth with a dry tingle on the finish. illinismitty (1797), Nashville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 17, 2008 Draft at the Baltimore Airport location. Pours a translucent copper amber with an off white head. Faint aroma of aroma hops and crystal malt. Mouthfeel had somewhat of a commercial vibe to it. Flavor of caramel balanced by some spicy hops with a some subtle citrus undertones. Finish is bitter and semi dry, but had some astringency that I did not care for. Worth a try, but not mind blowing. Decent for an Amber and it does pair well with their food. blipp (1679), Newark, New Jersey, USA
