Copper borwn with disappearing beige head. Refreshing bitter. Good lively green hops. Slightly earthy hop aroma. Fine in mouth, just enough malt. Finish is hoppily dry and refreshes the palate for the next sip. Good session bitter with some citrus throughout SilkTork (4175), Rochester, Kent, England

Assorted fruits in this attractive orange coloured best bitter. Raspberry, rhubarb, and melon are part of the gentle fruit sweetness that leads into a gently tannic finish. A good fruity best bitter. chriso (4796), London, Greater London, England

Oak was the original name of the brewery, changed to the present style in 1996. I have usually been impressed with Phoenix beers, but not this one I’m afraid. Deep gold colour. Slightly hazy, so maybe not in top condition. Vague green hop aroma but nothing very assertive comes through. The flavours have a citric edge, but are muddy and muddled. Thin and watery with a muddy mouthfeel. Not great. Cask (handpump), Head of Steam, Euston, London.

Same ABV and the ratings looks reasonable. It has a nice malty aroma with a well balanced flavour. A very nice session beer. Spiesy (2333), Global Citizen, Greater London, England

Orange amber colur. Hay like hoppy nose. Dry and light bodied, yet firm. Long salty, grassy bitter finish. A pleasant and well balanced beer poured in top condition.
