MiP (8792), Sønderborg, Denmark Jan 3, 2009 Can, 6.7%. Clear dark golden colour. Small white head. The flavour is clean enough, not very caramelly. The boring kind of mocne.
Can 500ml,
Appearance: Pours big head, almost white with some milky-creamy character, carbonation after a quick head formation becomes soft in the body texture, clean and clear body texture, golden in colour towards deepness. Head slowly decreases and gives considerable lacing, very nice impression as for an European Strong Lager style.
Aroma: Some hints of natural honey and aromatic hop, very simmilar to the light version of Piast but a bit more chalky, grainy and flowery, nice hint of sweetness at the background. Well hidden alcohol, the hoppy aroma reminds me of Lublin aromatic hop being among the best hop types in Poland. A bit milky and smmoth.
Flavour: The first impression is that I’ll buy this again if I want to have a strong lager. More pronounced taste comparing to the light version "Piast Wrocławski". Sweet malted barley is honestly present here, fresh hoppy, aromatic, grassy and flowery, refreshing nose. Mild bitterness of hop on palate. Perfectly hidden alcohol. Finish feel is soft to medium.
Palate: Body is light, texture is wattery carbonation is rather soft on palate, finish feel is grainy, aromatic hoppy, refreshing, interesting and withought any boring dullness that some strong lagers do have. ogivlado (3036), Zagreb, Croatia Jan 3, 2007 Canned(500ml). -Pale yellow coloured, small white head, malty alcoholic nose. Sweet malt aroma with faint hoppy and slight fruity notes. Light carbonation, a way too sweet and not so strong alcohol presence. Drinkable. chmurarz (401), Raciborz now Legnica, Poland Nov 25, 2006 500 ml, can, fruity and bready aroma, mediocre head endurance, after 100 sec you dring a flat beer. nice golden colour, a bit tangy- lemony or grapefruity taste, gassy, mushrooms are in the back, little alcohol in taste which is surprising for a strong lager, strange aftertaste just like the one you feel after eating unripe, green bananas. not full taste.I might have a strange impression but it seems sticky.refreshing.average Mungo (2474), Southampton, Hampshire, England Sep 11, 2006 Bottle. Sweet malt and little else. Thankfully little alcohol shows. Quite poor. radiomgb (1920), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Jun 25, 2006 Can shared by <a
href=http://www.ratebeer.com/ViewUser.asp?UserID=606 target=blank> Radek, thanks Radek. Light golden in colour, thin white lasting head, some lace. The aroma was very clean, crisp, light floral hops, some sweetness and bready. The flavour was of biscuits and bread, floral hops, some alcohol, light sweetness. Crisp mouthfeel, light body, light carbonation. Finishes smooth, crisp, lightly bitter. Actually rather enjoyable. DougShoemaker (2855), Toronto, Canada Nov 13, 2005 Good malt aroma, soft hops too, golden, small tight head. Sweet malt flavour, some hops. Light bodied, bitter. Even with it’s abv, I think this is a good session beer.
Thank You Radek.
