Another rather German authentic offering by Piece.

I like:
Highly toasty malt foundation, just like I like my alts. Cerealic and grainy, but also gently nutty and fruity (plum and pear-like). Active, engaging carbonation. Solid maltiness is complemented by soft woodsy and earthy german hops. Spot on were it not for the tougher carbonation.

I dislike:
Not too bright copper robe whose white head quickly fades. Somehow, less charming than the other two that I’ve tried which seemed to have an house character almost.
NobleSquirrel (758), Chicago, Illinois, USA Oct 26, 2008 Draft at Piece. Pour is a deep red/amber, small head. Nose is very malty, smells of autumn. Touch of smoke and sweetness. Taste is reasonably rich and clean. Bready and sweete. No hops, which is good. A nice example, albeit subdued. Nice. WickerBrew (299), Chicago, Illinois, USA Oct 1, 2008 This didnt exactly jump put as being fantastic. It was very smooth and not dry tasting at all. Not even too strong with the hops. It did have a good dark brown look and went down easy, so it gets some bonus points for that, Aurelius (2517), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Sep 30, 2008 Darkish brown, frothy, slightly off-white head. Sweet tea aroma, fresh and a litte floral or lemon-zesty. West coast hops, dry and toasted/crackery. Pretty crisp overall, but a little caramel on the sides. Grassy malt, dark syrup in the finish. Deftly done, very drinkable, good compliment to the fine pizza here. billism (36), Missouri City, Texas, USA Sep 30, 2008 On tap @ piece. Clear dark amber/brown. Not much aroma. White head that diminished somewhat quickly. Medium body mouth feel. Slightly hoppy. A decent alt.
