On tap at Piece. Amarillo Brillo has a pleasing mouth-puckering bitterness and a rush of resin and citrus flavours. However, like a lot of strong, hoppy American beers it somewhat neglects subtlety and any attempt at maltiness.

On tap at the 2008 Strong Ale Festival. Poured a deeper and lightly hazy amber color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of floral hops, citrus, and pine. Tastes of pine, citrus, floral, and toasted caramel.

My last beer on the day of FoBAB. Drank on tap at Piece while waiting for our table and while watching, enjoying, and calling tons of people as the Iowa Hawkeyes crushed the BCS dreams of the Penn State Nittany Lions. Go Hawks! This brew poured a brownish red hue, pretty clear, with a decent tan head that sticks around. Aromas are very hop forward, citrusy hops explode but are hitched to some nice caramel and biscuity maltiness. Tastes translate well, nice citrusy grapefruit and lemon zest hoppiness balanced well with a toffee and caramel like maltiness. Finishes bitter, but clean. Medium bodied. Nice, enjoyable, lacks defining features. Cheers!

Draft at the brewpub. Poured a clear dark brown-orange color. head was off white with a slight yellowish tint. Some lace was left behind on the glass at the end. Attractive and well balanced aroma of caramel, rich toffee, and citrusy hops. Slightly sweet and medium bodied with mild hop bitterness. The flavor was dominated by citrus (orange, grapefruit, and lime) with a buttery molasses malt flavor. Good beer.

On tap at Piece. Enjoyed with several ratebeerers. Pours a cloudy orange mahogany with a thin beige head. Caramelized malts, lemons, dried fruits, and fresh green hops in the nose. Flavors are good but a little watery. Caramelized malts, ripe fruits, and floral hops. Hops smell fresh but there is very little bitterness for a IIPA.

On tap at piece while hanging out with ratebeerians xnoxhatex, walt, holdenn, and drewbeerme. Caramel red pour with off white head. Aroma of spicey fruit and present alcohol. Flavor is citrus fruit, some tartness, with a surprisingly subdued bitterness. finish is piney andleaves the mouth dry from hops. The body was pretty watery which really detracts from this one for me.

Not a bad beer, but just not enough for a IIPA. Could use to be more hoppy, this comes across too sweet and malty. ABV was well hidden, but it definetly hit me. Better with the pizza.
