On tap at Piece. Pours muddy brown with little head. Aroma is a vanilla bomb with oak and malt backbone. Flavor follows - bread-y and sweet with substantial vanilla undertones. Surprisingly medium body and drinkable. Very nice.

Sampled at FoBAB. I know CaryTheDude loves him some MooseKnuckle, so throwing some bourbon in there might be better. Big, caramel and vanilla aroma. Sweet, oaky, some tofee, really nice. Flavor is big too. A nice malt forward barley wine. The oak fits pretty nice here. I need to try the original to see how the barrel affects it. Pretty nice, though, I’d have to say.

Muddy brown. No head. Chocolaty cherry with some citrus nose. Caramel and vanilla and a woody dry finish.

On tap at FoBAB. Poured deep, murky amber with a well-retained, creamy cap of beige head. The aroma picked up sweeter toffee and caramel over oak, vanilla, and sweet bourbon.. warm, sweet, and well-done. The flavor had sweet caramel and candied toffee at the core with plenty of bourbon and vanilla around.. lots more tasty, well-integrated bourbon on the finish. Medium-plus bodied with low carbonation and increasing barrel presence as it warmed.. only flowed decently.

FoBAB 2008. Poured a hazy dark orange color. The head was khaki with an orange tint. Smelled of citrusy hops, cotton candy, caramel, and oak. Full bodied and slightly sweet with caramel, cotton candy, oak, and citrusy hops. Kind of orange liqueur-ish...and good.

tap at piece. thanks to dukefan for informing me that this was on tap... dark caramel brown pour with a very thin light brown head... sweet rich bourbon, vanilla, and toffee notes that make up the aroma...flavors continue on a similar scale with sweet smooth caramel and toffee. sweet.richness with some compromising bitter hops in the finish. somewhat hot and warming. carbonation level low but noticeable....a very nice and slow winter warmer sippin brew.

Tap @ Piece. Served a little too cold (like their other Barrel Aged beers). Pours a caramel color with a thin tan head. Nice aroma of caramel, vanilla, and bourbon. Great flavor, the body is really creamy. Taste has a lot of caramel, vanilla, and bourbon. Really sweet. Great beer though, I wish they had this more often.

Pours a dark amber color with a bubbly ring of a head that is a pale canvas color. Lacing is pretty nice. Nose is massive amount of coconut and vanilla. Taste is the same with an additional caramel and whiskey component and some dark brown sugar on the finish. Mouthfeel is nice and sticky and the finish is long. Nice.
