Kind of sad that I finally get around to rating this beer here when I just live a couple blocks from Piece. Dark brown with tan head. Nose is pretty smokey. Nice porter though. The flavor also is smokey, roasted malts, and a little chocolate. Nicely done. drewbeerme (2291), Chicago, Illinois, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 16, 2008 It’s kept dark in the brewpub, so the best I can really say is the beer was dark. Maybe dark brown, maybe black. Nice creamy head. Maybe brown or tan or beige. Good lacing. The aroma is chocolatey and roasty, dark malts and a light smokiness. The smoke, although quiet, step up more in the flavor, nicely complementing the malty sweetness. It finishes on a dry note, smokey with a roasted bitterness. Nice brew.
