On tap at Piece. Great Porter! Arrived looking all dark and mysterious with a thin foamy ring of mocha colored foam. A smooth roasty nose. Greets the tongue with chocolate and smoke, a slightly tart middle rides on the back of the malt overtones, and a subtle licorice flavor at the end. Very solid mouthfeel for a porter - almost like a stout. A good amount of carbonation and a very pleasant finish. Really solid porter. (And great pizza too! Piece is a must see in Chicago!)

Another fantastic beer on tap at Piece. Pour is black with a filmy tan head. Smell is rich dark malt, smoky coffee, and dry chocolate. Taste is rich, roasty, smoky and robust flavorwise. Prickly carbonation with a medium body and this one comes highly recommended.

Out of a take home growler. Dark black pour, tan colored head that dissipates slowly. Medium body & flavor of roasted malts & chocolate. A little lighter than the Flat Iron Stout but equally delicious!

Lots of coffee is this really balanced porter. Nice and chocolaty with a nice lingering roasty flavor.

Actually, this should be listed as a smoked porter. Very roasty and chewy, quite nice, actually. Plenty of coffee and roast notes to keep you feeling good about yourself. excellent.

On tap at the brewpub on 6/20/07: Pours a mostly opaque dark mahogany with a spotty-lacing light tan head. Aroma of sweet dark caramel and chocolate malt with a nice touch of dark fruits and roasty grain. Body starts with nice full dark caramel sweetness and good, smooth, lightly bitter balance. An enjoyable porter.
