Dark red-brown color with small white head. Very nice citrus hop aroma, sweet malt. Flavor is very balanced with super sweet malt, bitter-pine, bubblegum, pineapple. Med-large, full body with a lot of creaminess. A pretty amazing IPA and a great beer from john cutler.

Chicago Trip. Monday 12:30. Spoke with the brewer. This is brewed with Apollo hops. Not sure if it was also with Centennial and Fuggles or if Apollo is descended from those two. On tap. Golden beer. Wet grain aroma. Light foam. Attractive flowery hop nose with citrus notes as well. Very malty beer. Big bodied. Holds up a lot of hops. I believe this should be listed as an IIPA.

On tap at Piece. This was a dark one.. and could have been a DIPA, but I couldn’t get info. Poured a surprisingly deep brown with a short cap of off-white head. Aroma was of sweet, toasted grapefruit with caramel and perhaps a hint of chocolate.. pine resin accents.. deep, dark, and seductive! The flavor was even more enjoyable with a dark, sweet base of grapefruit, pine resin, and caramel.. hefty doses of pineapple and pine resin bitterness surrounding.. nice use of darker malts in there.. long, bitter pineapple finish.. very tasty! Medium-bodied with the sweet, toasty core supporting the higher bitterness well. Great stuff!
