Small to medium sized soapy/creamy off white head with great lacing. Body is a hazy golden color. Nose is ammonia, pears, catty hops, and pine. Taste is pine, honey, butter scotch, and rubber glove. Mouthfeel is nice a coating and finishes super long and bitter. Delicious.

dirty cloudy appearance, wonderfully piney nose. huge hops with a background of fruits which are apparent enough to push this into the territory of IIPAs which truly excel.

(10/13/08) Draught at the brewpub in Chicago. Hazy amber a rather stable off-white head. Aroma has a bit of caramel, light nutty notes, quite a bit of floral hops and a bit of fruitiness. Bitter hoppy flavor with some citrus, some pine, some fruits and weak malty sweetish tones. Alcohol is well-hidden even if slightly apparent on the palate. Medium to full-bodied. A good, highly-drinkable, hop bomb.

gtmw 08....3 pretty decent ipas/dipas right in a row and this one held up just fine against the previous 2.... pours hazy orange with a thin soapy white head.... assertive tropical floral hops in the nose..... flavors continued with the sweet tropical fruits. extremely drinkable even at 9.5%...can’t wait to have this again in chicago.

GTMW 2008. I’ve been wanting to try this beer for quite some time now. The beer pours to a murky straw colored body with a dense white head. The beer was like a hoppy hefeweizen. Sweet and rich. Seemed wheaty. Really nice!

Great Taste of the Midwest 2008

Hoppy and aggressive this was amazingly my first hop bomb of the afternoon. That made it the perfect shock to the system after porters, stouts and heavy fruit beers. It is not the strongest imperial IPA but at the same time everything you could ask for is present.

Aroma / Appearance - The cloudy golden body left a nice layer of residue along the side of the glass. The hops took the form of a bright fruity and caramel blend.

Flavor / Palate - Hoppy banana bread washed across the senses before a dry bitter finish. There is no mistaking this for anything other than an imperial IPA at this point. Aggressive but balanced it highlights the skill of the brewers at Piece. I can’t wait to get back there and see what they have brewing in the future.

GABF 2007. A hazy golden beer with a thin orangey head. The aroma is sweet malty combined with notes of grass. The flavor is sweet with ntoes of grass, malt, and grapefruits. OK, but nothing special.
