Mar 28, 2007 On tap at Piece. Poured a clear medium golden with a short cap of off-white head. Nose was heavy on the citrus and pine hoppage with sweet, rum-laced caramel backing it... full and engaging. Hefty sweet caramel and lighter fruits (peach and apricot) at the core.. juicy with a higher level of bitterness to it. Creamy and juicy on the palate with a hair over medium-body on it.. full of flavor and had a nice flow to it.

Oct 4, 2008 Updated: Oct 7, 2008Draft at the brewpub. Listed as 6.5% ABV on the chalkboard. Poured a clear medium orange color. The head was thick, off white, and left some lace behind on the glass. Pleasant melange of aromas including the likes of grapefruit, flower blossom, apricot, and subdued toffee. Light to medium bodied with moderate hop bitterness. Some sugars lingered on the lips after the bitterness waned. Tasted mostly of grapefruity hops, mango, and apricot with some toasted bread and caramel in the background. Very nice IPA. Not so much a double IPA, IMO.

Apr 28, 2009 More hops on tap at Piece!! Amber pour wtih a light head. Tons of grapefruit peel and caramel malt in this one. Its very straighforward, but in a good way. The grapefruit and lemon are easy to taste and the caramel malt does its job well.

Jul 22, 2007 On tap at the brewpub. Pours dark amber with a medium white head. Has a very green hop aroma to it. Just delightful. Very citrusy and pine-like in scent. The flavor is like sucking on a half of hop grapefruit. Medium thick body seems to support this level of hops adequately without suppressing anything with the sweetness of too much malt. This is a really GOOD brewpub IPA.

Aug 25, 2009 Tap at the brewpub: Slightly hazy copper with a dense lacing off white consistent film of head. Very nice fruity hop nose- cascade and amarillo hop presence with a grapefruit, peach and lemon cookie richness meshing with rich resins. Creamy body with nice mild carbonation. The flavor is grapefruity, with lemon cookie notes and just enough pale crystal malt to sustain a balancing body. Has a long and resiny finish. A nice richly balanced IPA.

Sep 30, 2008 Hyper-fruity, slightly floral, pine-caramel IPA aroma. Bright orange-brown, nearly clear. Really good AIPA - standard qualities. Grapefruit, caramel. Light brine, caramel in the finish. Brisk, carbonated mouth, lingering spiciness.

Jun 23, 2007 on tap at piece. pours that piece hazy a dark golden color with off white head. nose has lots of pnw hops and notes of grapefruit. flavor is piney bitter, fruits of peach, grapefruit, and citrus. a nice fruity and bitter iipa. very tasty.
