Deep, dark grainy malt flavors - sweetish - without much roast. A little chemical on the backend. hombrepalo (780), Chicago, Illinois, USA

Aroma of roasted malts, barley and caramel. Carbonation is light almost too light. The rosted malts are the majority of the taste here, finishes smooth and refreshing with a caramel chocolate taste. An alright beer, pretty average overall, have had beer brews from piece. WickerBrew (312), Chicago, Illinois, USA

Its smooth and stuff, but its just boring. Not as big and burth as some others like it, this is way more drinkable. Nice to try, but not something I will come back for. Also I am not a fan of that mug it gets served in, I dont care if its correct glassware or not. Aroma of GR Noble hops, Euro malt, munich malt, and a clean lager profile mixed together well on the nose. Deep hazelnut brown with brilliant clarity, appropriate carbonation and nice lacing. Almost chocolate flavor but mysteriously not quite. Smooth and dry with no particular over the top out of balance ingredient. Seems properly attenuated and aged for a dunkel, and very sessionable. A very non-obtrusive dark bier. I will have it again. Served in a 16 oz. mug llyons37 (23), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 17, 2007 Rather light for a dark beer, not quite as dark as a stout. Mild coffee taste and very small, foam head that dissipates quicky. chicagodri (1076), Chicago, Illinois, USA

Mild aroma, slightly sweet. Seemed very light, not one of Piece’s best beers. NobleSquirrel (1121), Chicago, Illinois, USA
