| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 5/5 | 13/20 | Jan 10, 2007 Updated: Jan 12, 2007On tap. (Notes from Summer 2006.) Pours moderately cloudy, medium cold with very little head -- only a ring. Cascade-like hop aroma (piney, herbal, citrus) immediately drowns out all the pizza smells that flood the whole place. Hops dominate the flavor, notably its piney, resiny elements. I kept hoping some of the citrus and all that malt they talk about in the description would assert, but they stayed in the background barely showing themselves at all. Tingly, full-bodied palate that verges on sticky. More balance would have made this good beer a great beer. ryan (1781), Beltsville, Maryland, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 10, 2006 On tap at Piece. Pours a hazy, unfiltered bronze with a white head. Pine and grapefruit nose. Flavor has notes of nice PacNW citrus/grapefruity piney hops with a very solid caramel malt backbone. Pleasantly sweet, smooth bitter finish. Full, round and creamy with moderate carbonation. Nothing unique, but very good overall. If this had more aroma hops it would be even better. NachlamSie (1650), Tennessee, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 17, 2006 Draught during my Great Lakes region brew tour. Dysfunctionale pours a rich, bold copper color with a white head. A grapefruity hop profile is here, though tamer than their quintet ale. The caramel sweetness is of medium density. Hops are citrusy throughout. This finishes just a bit thinner than it should, given the initial full palate and sweet lemon drops are detectable as it fades. This is a pretty decent offering. I think it’s pretty much an IPA though. BCAR (216), Naperville, Illinois, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 31, 2006 Very clean hop aroma to go along with a medium amber color. Head is frothy and long-lasting. Nice malt character with a sharp hop/grapefruit flavor. Finish is bitter with and lingering. Nice IPA. Strong ale? Ughsmash (4076), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 30, 2006 On tap at Piece. Poured a clear, deep amber with not much more than a dusting of white head... light lacing and rising carbonation throughout the drink. Juicy grapefruit and pears in the nose... with some unidentifyable sweet malts behind. Flavor was aggressive with the grapefruit and juicy.. fuller than the nose, and with a sticky, sweet caramel backbone. Bitterness was medium-high and consistent through the drink. Carbonation was a tad high for my tastes. Very good overall.
