| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 20, 2005 Hazy orange with a large, off-white head. Spicy grapefruit aroma (Cascade?). Moderate-to-high bitterness, some graham cracker malt sweetness. Bitter, resinous finish. Good, but only in small quantities. StewardofGondor (1934), Washington Heights - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Aug 8, 2005 Hazy orange glow with some creamy white rungs and an icy wisped head. Big hoppy whiff with some grass and pine. Medium to fuller bodied. Lays in like an IPA. Tongue chafing principally the result of pine. Elements of grass and lilies come in on the underbelly. A decent ale, but I like strong ales to be stronger. barenada (211), Georgetown, Indiana, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 3, 2005 (draft) I’ve rated this right down the middle in every category. Nothing at all stands out. I don’t like the style, so I don’t like the beer. Frank (1066), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 2, 2005 A lot of people rave over Piece’s wheat beers but I’m really a bigger fan of their hoppy American ales. This one is nice clear reddish golden with a great head. Huge and hoppy but very crisp and drinkable. Not incredibly complex but that wasn’t what they were going for. hotstuff (3175), Indiana, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 20, 2005 Draft at Piece Brewery & Pizzeria. Poured a small white head that was mostly lasting, fine-medium sized bubbles, good lacing, transparent, and a yellow gold hue. Aroma was malty, hoppy and sweet. Sweet, hoppy flavor. Hoppy mouthfeel. steve23mj (273), Essexville, Michigan, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 5, 2004 Pours light bronze small head. Nice hoppy nose, but not a traditional IPA. This was a sweeter hop variety. Flavors of sweet hop bitterness creep in. This blend of hops and sweetness is unique, yet powerful. Very nice beer. NobleSquirrel (1114), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 9, 2004 Updated: Aug 23, 2008man, me being an IPA fan, I was expecting big things out of this. I must say I was rather disappointed. At first, the cascades made me happy, as I drank more an more of it, it became sickeningly sweet, almost to the extent that I didn’t really want to finish it. I don’t think it is correct to call this an IPA, much the same way that the 120min isn’t. NOt to say they are on the same level, but both were intensely sweet. Still, it would have been nice ina smaller glass, but can I really complain? no...
Re-rate: Beer has evolved and has become a stronger beer as a result. This isn’t the same beer at all, as it is a lot paler and lighter. Still obscenely hoppy, though now it has some real umph to it and is paler. Nose is strongly American non-C hops, not sweet at all, nice dry finish. Much better beer and comperable to Camel Toe. Awesome beer, though nothing really super-exceptional. Very drinkable, even at 7%+
