Very weak at first and a little smokiness, thats about it. I have all the respect in the world for the brewpub but this beer should go the way of the dodo. chicagodri (1069), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 2, 2008 A decent stout, but nothing special from Piece (I usually enjoy most of the stuff they brew). The picture pretty much describes it...pours blacks with a thin brown head. Hints of chocolate and coffee. It seemed a little dry. A pretty decent stout though, but not outstanding. Stick with the hoppy beers at Piece. fiulijn (7420), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 5, 2007 Draught at the brewpub Black color. Nice milky aroma of roasted malt. Dry mouthfeel, with a milky roasted malt flavor, some dark chocolate too. Luckily the roasted malt is not too strong. Good. llyons37 (23), Chicago, Illinois, USA

A few notes of chocolate and coffee. On the dry side. Medium mouthfeel. bager (2121), Copenhagen N, Denmark
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 12, 2007 On tap @ the brewpub. Pours black with a medium sized creamy head. This is a irish style dry stout which are normally pretty boring. But not this one. Very well balanced with notes of chocolate, coffee, vanilla and dark fruits. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 3, 2007 Draught at the pizzeria. Pours a deep ruby black with thin khaki head. The aroma is roasted malts, definite weak coffee, a little bit of bitter chocolate and raisin. The flavor has a roastiness similar to plain coffee grounds, some raisin, and an ambient sweetness; some brown sugar comes out in the finish. Decent. NachlamSie (1649), Tennessee, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 3, 2007 Draught during my Dark Lord excursion. Pours a deep brown/black with some red hues and a nice tan head. The aroma is malty, musty, and roasty. This seems to be a lighter, more English leaning stout. Hints of coconut milk, roast, chocolate, toffee, and almonds hit my palate. Not a bad stout, but certainly not one of the more memorable ones.
