HonkeyBra (1264), Lemont, Illinois, USA Oct 11, 2009 Sampled at GABF. Golden pour with white head. A bit grainy in the aroma. Flavor is kind of meh. I appreciate the gesture, but this isn’t really something I’m all that interested in. sunevdj (1764), Copenhagen OE, Denmark Aug 26, 2009 On tap at Piece. Pours a clear pale yellow with a diminishing white head. Low sweetness with aromas of malts. Has a crispy dryness. Tiny nutty hints. Light bodied. Medium carbonation. Dry finish. Awesome PilsnerPeter (2585), Flushing, New York, USA Aug 25, 2009 Tap at the brewpub: Pale golden pour with a fading white head. Has a mild aroma of pale malt grains and nondescript esters. Has a crisp feel- a bit prickly. Mild flavor as well with apparent pale malt graininess and a very light grassy note in the finish. Quite simple but east to drink. BlackDonald (1127), Boise, Idaho, USA Aug 9, 2009 So many American brewpubs screw this one up, and make a golden ale. It’s like making an egg over easy and than you break the yolk and say well screw it I am having scrambled eggs. This had a hazy golden appearance with a small white head. A light bit of fruit jelly layed over a biscuit in the nose, with some nice grainy, albeit chewy maltiness, still remaining light with with some fruit in the finish. A nice take on the style. illinismitty (1790), Nashville, Tennessee, USA Jun 25, 2009 Draft at brewpub. Pours golden with a white head. Nose of biscuit and fruity esters, but you need to take a big whiff to get it. Light bodied but not watery. Flavor of pilsner malts with some subte sweet fruity and a slight tang. Clean finish. Nice example of the style. satan165 (541), River Grove, Illinois, USA Jun 21, 2009 nose of sweet pilsner malt. flavor contains an interesting and unexpected fruit note....peach perhaps. appearnace is standard but none the less quite pretty, clear golden. GeneralGao (3051), Iowa City, Iowa, USA Jun 12, 2009 Draft at the brewpub. poured a clear gold color with a thin white head on top. The nose was subdued overall with cereal grain, hay, and grass elements. Light bodied and delicately sweet.
