Straw and grainy flavor, rather starchy with some potato notes. Honestly, this is their award winning beer? Easily the weakest of the seven I tried during my visit. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 8, 2005 Clear pale gold in color with a lot of noticeable fizz and a short foamy white head. Very clean aroma of fabric softener, dryer sheets, spray starch, lemons and low fat crescent rolls. Big crispy, lemony quaff, immediately transitioning to a persona of doughy biscuits. Lemony, effervescent and no astringent or acidic tendencies - something that more brewpubs should aim to achieve when they take on this style. One of the best Kolsch renditions I’ve had. barenada (211), Georgetown, Indiana, USA

Mostly light aroma full of cereals with light, grassy hops. The body is light and refreshing, good on a warm evening. A very mild flavor starting a bit sweet with the malt and moving to a mild, bitterness at the finish. Not really my cup of tea. SkyinBrian (429), Collinsville, Illinois, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 20, 2005 Draft at Piece Brewery & Pizzeria. I enjoyed this one the most of those that I rated at this establishment. Small white head that was mostly lasting, fine sized bubbles, fair lacing, uncarbonated, transparent, and a straw yellow hue. Malty sweet aroma. Flavor was malty and very crisp tasting. Smooth palate. Light-medium body. Very nice.
