rederic (1785), montréal, Quebec, Canada May 27, 2008 Hazy amber-orange hue, with a mall white head, nice floral hop leafy nose, with some lemon, grapefruit note, with some piney, cedary accents, and a light toasty malt aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a good citrusy, piney flowery hop charater, with some resiny, coniferous, juicy leafiness accent, with a faint caramelized malt note leading towards a faint malty, hop piney bitternees finish. GeneralGao (3051), Iowa City, Iowa, USA May 6, 2008 Growler. Poured a clear medium orange color. The head was off white and reduced in about one minute. Aroma was of caramel, cereal grain, lemon, and subdued grapefruit. Light bodied with mild hop bitterness. I tasted graham cracker up front with some grassy hops, and toffee toward the end. Not bad. heemer77 (4294), Savannah, Missouri, USA May 6, 2008 From a growler, thanks Mike and Mark. The body was dark amber with a khaki head. The aroma was grapefruit and toast. There was also some nutty almonds. The taste was grapefruit somw with some toast. There was also some apple core. A decent pale. WickerBrew (312), Chicago, Illinois, USA Apr 14, 2008 Kind of a let down with this one. Not a whole lot of flavor up front and it finishes with a weak dry hoppiness. Tastes like straw and feels funny in my mouth. Always happy to try something new but I would rather grab a top heavy if i could do it over. Aurelius (2643), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Apr 12, 2008 Clear, light orange beer. really nice balance of fruit, hops, malt. Not in-your-face. Pretty good for a standard APA. chicagodri (1021), Chicago, Illinois, USA Apr 6, 2008 Pours hazy orange with a thin white head. Aroma has some piney notes. The flavor has some nice bitterness, and it is dominated by the pine and citrus hops. It is very drinkable, but I prefer some of their other hoppy beers much better. Still decent though. stoutchap (297), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jan 20, 2008 On tap at Piece. A hazy amber with small white head. Not much aroma. Some piney hops in the beginning, a citrus middle and nutty finish. But very subdued - I really had to roll this one around in my mouth and think hard about the flavor profile. I thought the finish was more like a brown ale than a Pale Ale - definitely was expecting something hoppier. Cornfield (4892), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA Jan 16, 2008 This has a hazy look, possibly light amber (Darned brewpub lighting!) with a modest white head. The aroma is mainly tart orange, orange peel, and a whiff of pine, the malt barely eking out. Not much bitterness to the beer, mainly orange with some pale malty sweetness. Not very interesting.
