WOW, talk about a big barley here-huge caramel flavors with touches of dark fruit, resin and some green hops. Carbonation is sharp, which hinders the experience. There is quite a bit of complex things going on here, but doesnt really have much direction. THe flavors are very indifinitive. Long caramel and fruity finish. pretty decent.

Aroma is sweet, wtih toffee, fruit, syrup, brown sugar, zesty oranges, lemons and some dark dried fruits. Flavor is sweet and spicy. Hops shine through in this one more than I anticipated in the nose. I really enjoyed this. One of my favorites at piece. FunkyBrewster (503), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 14, 2009 Pours a deep cloudy brown with a light tan creamy head. Aroma is powerfully hoppy with raisin and overripe dark fruit characters. A nice spiciness as well with a well balanced caramel sweetness. Flavor starts with the strong sweet fruits, raisin and plum. Picks up a biting hop bitterness that clenches the back of the tongue and bites through the finish with sharp citric fruits and very sweet malt. Medium to full body and a rich character. Well crafted and warming american barley wine. Very tasty. 17thfloor (1501), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 2, 2009 On tap at Piece. Pours a murky dull brown with a lovely fine frothy dense white head. Tons of citrus and resiny piney fresh hops in the aroma, screams American BW. Sweet caramel and bitter salty pine flavor with lots of citrus in the finish. Some cotton candy, herbal, perfumy, slightly reminds me of Alesmith. Sugary med/full body with overloading sharp carbonation. nhorween (640), Chicago, Illinois, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 10, 2008 Copper pour ligth tan head with decent lacing. Light cereals and grass in the aroma touch of fruit a piece of raw grains, lots of sweet notes, some hints of grahm cracker. Avg pal. Sweet graham cracker lightly bitter grass flavor fairly acidic, too much alcohol comes through. Not bad but I prefer the camel.
GTMW: Served by a very fun & cute brunette should be worth some bonus points.
