Dorqui (1283), Brescia, Italy Dec 27, 2005 Updated: Sep 16, 2007Bottled 0,33L. Creamy and compact head, good adhesion and duration. Scorched dark red color, much fizzy and lightly load. Determined alcohol scent, toasted malt, dry wood and ash. Prickly and harmonious taste. Overbearing bitter with decided hoppy notes. Balanced end, a lot smoked and balmy. Amazing.
Thanks to CEZ for this beer. CEZ (365), Milano, Italy May 22, 2005 Brown body, medium head. Chestnut notes are rather weak. Rich taste, pleasantly sweet but a bit cloying. Medium body. The alcohol punch can be felt. I liked it. Voivod (304), Como, Italy Feb 23, 2003 I've never seen this beer in Corsica, so I guess it's a beer made for exportation. Dark mber colour with a decent head. The aroma is alcoholic with obvious traces of chestnut. The flavour isn't so balanced as the normal Pietra and the sweetness (traces of caramel) covers most of the flavour while the aftertaste is too bitter and the chestnut flavour is much lighter. Much worse than the normal Pietra: if you want something similar, but better, try the Christmas Pietra beer (Bière de Noël).
