bhensonb (2728), Woodland, California, USA May 9, 2008 330 ml bottle. Fresh caramel aroma with some nutty aspects. Copper color with no head. Thin to medium body with mild carbonation. Flavor is caramel with a strong woody flavor. Guess thats chestnut. The woodiness balances the sweetness rather well. Finish is rather dry, and the woodiness fills in for bitter. This is a strong flavor. Very different. Almost smoky.
thill25 (165), Orlando, Florida, USA Jul 10, 2008 500 ml can...pours clear cinnamon brown w/ a quickly fading off-white head. The aromas were nuts, malts, and caramel. The flavors were a little surprising. The beer was very nutty w/o being over the top and on the back palate there was quite a bit of smokey undertones. It also contained a smooth, caramel flavor throughout. The palate was almost medium bodied with some miled carbonation. The sweetness carried though to the finish. I was surprised by how much I like this beer! Slayer85 (434), Firenze, Italy Jul 7, 2008 Bottled (6% ABV). A clear light amber beer with a small and fast disappearing white head. The aroma is simple, some maltiness, and light notes of caramel and chestnuts. The flavour has more pronounced chestnuts notes, though they are not really in evidence. Not bad taste but a bit too sweet. Medium body, lively carbonation, quite long finish with light bitterness. An average beer. martinboer (1297), Amsterdam, Netherlands Jul 4, 2008 Bottle from Bier Koning. Orange body. Malty nose, sweet too. Taste of malt. Then oranges and even bacon. Dry finish. Ober (214), Best, Netherlands Jun 28, 2008 A clear golden colored ber, with a foamy white head. An aroma of malt, herbs, flowery and caramel. The taste is sugar sweet, a bitter in the back. It has a medium body. There are some spices. It has a dry aftertaste. Its not my taste. Radek Kliber (3278), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jun 4, 2008 Bottle at Mondial 2008
