The pour is a murky dark amber with a two finger fizzy crackly yellowish head. The nose lends to a mild infection, fruity/acetic character, sour malt, mild earthiness, leafy hop feel. The flavor is similar, slick mouthfeel, sourness, strange fruitiness. Mouthfeel is crisp with a mild acetic character. GAManiac (1188), Atlanta, Georgia, USA

Pours a cloudy dark amber with a small whitish head that recedes to nothing quickly and leaves no lacing.
The aroma is sweet with caramel malts and some light fruits, especially apples. Slight toastiness in the nose but the sweetness is more prevalent.
The taste starts out with the same sweetness, fruit first and then giving way to a light caramel malt backbone. There is more of a toasted character than in the aroma. There is a hint of tartness to the finish, if ever so slight.
The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with lower carbonation than I was expecting.
This is a fair amber ale but nothing that stands out. The sourness of the finish is a little off-putting but it’s not too bad overall. bu11zeye (5621), Frisco, Texas, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 27, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours a nice amber/brown color with a bit of chill haze. The head was a bit underwhelming but had sufficient lacing. Aroma is fairly faint but you do get a bit of caramel and a dash of...spice? The flavor is heavy on the toasted side. It’s a nice change of pace having a toasted amber with a touch of sweetness at the end...rounds it out nicely. The mouthfeel on this beer is rather nice and full. A lot of ambers fall short here but this one has it right. I could drink a bunch of these.
