Citrusy hop nose plus some less than appealing other stuff...not sure but it ain’t the job done. Flavor is big hop bitterness (surprise!), some malt backing but the aftertaste leaves you not enjoying the ride. Not the worst DIPA Ive ever had but it was in a land far far far away from the best. No need to do this ride.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 18, 2009 A lightly hazed amber IPA with a thin lacing off white head. A nice aroma of floral hops bouquet, orange pulp, more citrussy. In mouth, nice biscuitty malts, with some good, yet light, citrussy hops, not bad, but lighter than expected. On tap at brewpub, Sept. 12 2009. dwyerpg (2537), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Oct 3, 2009 Smells very similar to the regular IPA. This actually tastes incredibly close to the reg IPA as well, up until the aftertaste which has a much stronger bite. SuzyGreenberg (1382), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 29, 2009 bomber & draft during SBW - much better in the bottle IMO; clear orange with fluffy white head leaving some soapy lace; sweet, fruity, resiny hop nose; very nice; bitter zing in the dry finish; could be a little more sweet for my liking, but quite nice overall Skyview (4057), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 24, 2009 Acquired a 22-oz bottle via trade with RiversideAK. Pours a hazy orange amber colored brew with an average sized off-white head that slowly dissipates. Aroma of grapefruit and citrus zest, some light caramel and then some pine. Taste is medium bodied, plenty of bitterness to go around with more flavors of grapefruit, some grassy hops and a hint of yeast. Finish is sweet and bitter with some powdered caramel malt and citrus. Still, it’s one solid double IPA. jtw (943), farmington, Michigan, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 17, 2009 Draft at the brewery... hazy light orange with a huge biting green hops bitterness. Earthy and dusty Northwest hops, with big malt support. Along the lines of most well-done imperial IPA’s, but not extraordinary. argo0 (6948), Washington DC, USA
