Commercial Description:
Unlike the lighter "Scottish" ales, this is an authentic heavy Scotch ale. It is lightly hopped with a strong malt character, and a hint of peaty smokiness. Warm fermentation produces fruity esters and balances the sweet malt character.

Drank more like a Vienna Lager than a Scotch Ale, fairly mild and lighter than it should have been. Amber copper color with a thin head and solid lacing. Malty aroma of caramel and sweet bread. Flavor follows suit with a minor earthy taste. A tad thin for what I was expecting. Average beer.

Reviewed 7/24/2009 (bottle): Cloudy brown color body, small off-white head, quickly diminishing. Malty sweet aroma, syrupy. Earthy. English malty taste, biscuity. Sweet, but not syrupy. Scotchy taste, maybe butterscotch. Not bad, not too headache inducing.

Deep copper, with almost no head. I had high hopes for this. Medium body with minimal hops. The finish was a bit sour.

Nice peated malt aroma. Auburn color. Pours with a small head. Clear with small bubbles. Lightly carbonated, (just right!). Peated malt, bready taste with just the right amount of earthy hops.

355 ml bottle bought at Pike Place Marked, Seattle. Reddish amber. Smoky oak and malt to the nose. A very rich flavour, hint of smoke, wood, malt, with long aftertaste. Shared at the Superpower beer session part I in Tromsø 13.01.09

Bottle from Scrizz, thanks. Pours a nice golden amber with a thin off white head. The head disapates quickly, but laces well. Has a smokey aroma of fruit and malts. Has a good carbonation. The flavor is mild but good. Has a spiciness too it but not too much. Has a medium body. A watery texture. A real good finish with a nice aftertaste. I like it.
