Commercial Description:
Unlike the lighter "Scottish" ales, this is an authentic heavy Scotch ale. It is lightly hopped with a strong malt character, and a hint of peaty smokiness. Warm fermentation produces fruity esters and balances the sweet malt character.

Subtle malt aroma. Great balance throughout and hides the alcohol quite well. Not quite as big or as malty as I expected, but good all the same.

Toasted, sweet, carmel aroma that's very appealing; full bodied and flavorful with some smoked peat, carmel, and some fruit; fairly smooth with a little bit of a late bite on the palate; a great brew for the money, quite flavorful.

On Tap Sweet flavor with light hops. A bit of almond/cashew flavor and floral aftertaste. This tastes like a mild scotch ale - which hides that fact that it packs quite a high ABV.

Draft. Beautiful orange-amber color with a creamy white head. Aroma is mild, sweet and smokey with earthy notes. Sweet malty flavor, smoke and peat with a light hop finish. Smooth and creamy.

Reddish amber in color and lacking any head. Strong aroma of sweet malt and alcohol. Watery on the palate almost flat like, with flavors of malt, prunes, and alcohol. The alcohol flavo builds throughout and leaves a mild aftertaste.

Sweet perfumy fragrance. A beautiful amber brown. A pleasant non-distracting flavour, with no aftertaste. I enjoyed this beer. It allowed me to have a great drink while I did other things. Not overwhelming in a very good way. Recommended for situations where there is alot going on of interest, yet still in need of good drink. This would be a good choice.

It pours a whisky brown with a tawny head that evaporates pretty quickly. Sturdy, malty aroma. Solid flavor- hits the tongue and holds on with the malty sweetness while hitting the roof of the mouth with an alcoholic tang.

Great carmel color. Wonderful full fruity tasting beer. Not a bad reason for a trip to Seattle.
