RuneStumo (495), FØRRESFJORDEN, Norway Nov 28, 2008 05.11.2008. On Tap at the brewpub. The Pike Brewing Co, Seattle, Wa. The colour is a kind of reddish brown. Aroma is dominated by some kind of smokey-whiskeyflavor thatr I like, but is strange. A special beer. blutt59 (2042), Dallas, Texas, USA Oct 29, 2008 bottle, light brown color with a slight skim foam, nose is malty and sweet, maybe a little peat in there, flavor is scotch like but with a vegetal metallic note, finish is light and sour Tejas (693), Dallas, Texas, USA Oct 26, 2008 Pretty good. Nice balance. I get a little roastiness instead of sweet which is good in my book. I like the ABV, not to high. RollinHard (748), Fort Worth, Texas, USA Oct 19, 2008 Pours a slightly dark red amber with a small white ring of foam that doesn’t last long. Aroma is kinda faint to me, some caramel, faint peat-smoke, slight c-hop and a little cheddar maybe. Flavor is a bit stronger, but still on the drinkable side with some caramel, tangy peat notes, pumperknickel and dryish floral hops. Finishes a little smoky, toasted and pleasantly dry. Medium to light bodied and kinda void on the tongue with no creaminess. I like my scotch ales on the heavy side and this just isn’t satisfying. Some decent flavors, but I want decadence damnit! mar (1740), Rowlett, Texas, USA Oct 17, 2008 deep amber pour with a ring of froth no real head. huge caramel malts with slight fruits on the nose. very malty with a slight smokey finish and the caramel is quite bold in this one. not too bad in my book. Swalden28 (1439), McKinney, Texas, USA Oct 4, 2008 Bottle from kegs & Barrels in McKinney, TX. Pours a slightly hazy deep amber with orange hues, nice beige head. Aroma of caramel. Flavor is nice, caramel, nice fruity flavors, with a little hp. Mouthfeel is med-heavey body with medium carbonation....Overall, a tasty beer! beergod (97), Houston, Texas, USA Oct 1, 2008 This ale pours a nice ruby amber with a small head. Caramel and a sweet malt on the nose. Taste is much of the same but in a much lighter version. Also this Wee Heavy is a lot lighter in body than usual. Very Drinkable and overall not to shabby! Hawksfan17 (717), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 20, 2008 Sour, rye, and hops dominate the aroma on this reddish brown pour. It has a nice roasted, peat malt flavor that is complimented by a certain amount of sourness.
