jjpm74 (3447), Connecticut, USA Aug 15, 2008 Courtesy of douglas88. Pours copper/mahonagy with a thin white head. Smells of caramel, oatmeal, some peat moss, hints of bananas. Tastes of sweet caramel, earthy, touches of fruit, some peaty qualities. Enjoyable. Tastes like oatmeal cookies on the finish.

Tasted at the Pizza Port Bottle shop in November with some other Ratebeer folks.
Dont know who brought this one. Average to under-average Scotch Ale.
Sweet malty flavor with and earthy and smoky aroma.
Finishes thin with some tones of dark fruit.
Not much body and a bit of a metallic aftertaste. RuneStumo (158), FØRRESFJORDEN, Norway Nov 28, 2008 05.11.2008. On Tap at the brewpub. The Pike Brewing Co, Seattle, Wa. The colour is a kind of reddish brown. Aroma is dominated by some kind of smokey-whiskeyflavor thatr I like, but is strange. A special beer. blutt59 (954), Dallas, Texas, USA Oct 29, 2008 bottle, light brown color with a slight skim foam, nose is malty and sweet, maybe a little peat in there, flavor is scotch like but with a vegetal metallic note, finish is light and sour Tejas (617), Dallas, Texas, USA Oct 26, 2008 Pretty good. Nice balance. I get a little roastiness instead of sweet which is good in my book. I like the ABV, not to high. RollinHard (547), Fort Worth, Texas, USA Oct 19, 2008 Pours a slightly dark red amber with a small white ring of foam that doesn’t last long. Aroma is kinda faint to me, some caramel, faint peat-smoke, slight c-hop and a little cheddar maybe. Flavor is a bit stronger, but still on the drinkable side with some caramel, tangy peat notes, pumperknickel and dryish floral hops. Finishes a little smoky, toasted and pleasantly dry. Medium to light bodied and kinda void on the tongue with no creaminess. I like my scotch ales on the heavy side and this just isn’t satisfying. Some decent flavors, but I want decadence damnit!
