| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 19, 2008 Pours a slightly dark red amber with a small white ring of foam that doesn’t last long. Aroma is kinda faint to me, some caramel, faint peat-smoke, slight c-hop and a little cheddar maybe. Flavor is a bit stronger, but still on the drinkable side with some caramel, tangy peat notes, pumperknickel and dryish floral hops. Finishes a little smoky, toasted and pleasantly dry. Medium to light bodied and kinda void on the tongue with no creaminess. I like my scotch ales on the heavy side and this just isn’t satisfying. Some decent flavors, but I want decadence damnit! nbutler11 (754), Phoenix, Arizona, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 20, 2009 Pours a hazy copper color from the bottle with a beige head. Looks, smells, and tastes nothing like a scotch ale. If anything, I would gesture that this is an abbey dubbel. Aroma and flavor of overripe red apples, cinnamon, caramel, and faint pear. A bit high in water content, but not bad. mmmbeer (748), Austin, Texas, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 28, 2009 22oz. "bomber" served in a tumbler- poured a semi transparent dark brown-ruby, low carbonation at the end of the glass, white ring for a head. Aroma of a hearty caramel malt, malt is hard to distinguish from an alcohol base (sorry, it’s there), with notes of plum and dark cherries- let’s give this brew a chance. Hits the mouth with a high-medium body, this wasn’t the hardest brew that crashed my palate today, but it’s trying, middle has an alcohol burn, finish still burns, yet, lingers for more. This brew is a "closer"- after "Jane" wouldn’t let you play with her "kitty", just drink this, go home, and see some free porn. Dumbasses. Plural. Hmm...yep, sure did say that. djd07 (739), Houston, Texas, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 15, 2009 Bomber. Pours a cloudy copper amber with a small frothy off white head that diminishes quickly to nothing. The aroma is fruity malt with smoke and caramel. Thin mouthfeel with a sweet malt with caramel and a nice dry finish. Hides the alcohol well making it easy to drink. A good scotch ale from Pike. KnN (728), Greenbelt, Maryland, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 1, 2009 On Tap at the Pike Brewery. Poured a really nice dark orange color with a thin off white head. Aroma was big caramel toffee and malt. Flavor was sweet, but had a nice balancing hop bitterness. Well balanced. Really nice scotch ale. Fratto (727), Arlington, Texas, USA

Maple, raisins, prunes, and malt aroma. Taste is malty, dry, and dark fruits. Finish is great. Hawksfan17 (717), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 20, 2008 Sour, rye, and hops dominate the aroma on this reddish brown pour. It has a nice roasted, peat malt flavor that is complimented by a certain amount of sourness. Maverick34 (701), New York, USA
