Commercial Description:
Unlike the lighter "Scottish" ales, this is an authentic heavy Scotch ale. It is lightly hopped with a strong malt character, and a hint of peaty smokiness. Warm fermentation produces fruity esters and balances the sweet malt character.

Very big caramel malt body. Slight estery-ness combined with a nice smokey peat nose. Very good beer, a nice style of scotch ale.

Sweet, with sometimes bitter aftertaste. Can taste and feel the alcohol when downing a six pack of the stuff. Good Scottish ale.

Nice orange color, rather ododrless. Has an orange-apply flavor with a mild hop prescence. A nice solid beer.

A very hearty, lightly hopped, strongly malted beer. Lots of good flavor, the malt doesn’t dominate too much. Not a bad beer... sweet name too.

It pours a whisky brown with a tawny head that evaporates pretty quickly. Sturdy, malty aroma. Solid flavor- hits the tongue and holds on with the malty sweetness while hitting the roof of the mouth with an alcoholic tang.

Bottle pours reddish golden, small white milkish head, very light carbonation, with spotty lacing.   Aroma of malts, some toffee or caramel, and light smokiness.   Forwardly smokey, slighty peaty/malty, with some semi-sweet character.   Finishes with a slight bitterness, but moreso a malty semi-sweet caramel flavor.   This is a rather easy to drink, non-offensive Scotch Ale.   Slight smokey on the aftertaste.   Fairly tasty this is...

This is an interesting beer that I couldn’t really get my taste buds around. it had lots of flavor but I couldn’t really figure out where it was going. A very decent beer though with good taste.

Amber color with thin beige head, and moderate lacing. Roasty honey malts hit first, very strong, with a bitter tangy finish.
