Commercial Description:
Unlike the lighter "Scottish" ales, this is an authentic heavy Scotch ale. It is lightly hopped with a strong malt character, and a hint of peaty smokiness. Warm fermentation produces fruity esters and balances the sweet malt character.

#200 rating for the beer! 12 oz bottle from enniskillen; Nose of prunes, cherries, and brown sugar sweetness; clear brown with a medium beige head; flavor is lightly fruity, peppery, with light hop bitterness; finish has a smoky note and a little alcohol warmth.

Bottle. Extremely malty aroma, faint smoke and peat with light fruitiness. Copper-amber body with a rocky tan head and medium-strong carbonation. Crisp, slightly sharp taste, caramel malt dominant. Peat recession, but the fruitiness remains. Medium body with lingering caramel aftertaste and a faint touch of sourness. Solid and balanced, a good but not great one. Thanks, Jake!

A good Ale. Not to sweet. Nice dark color with little head. Slightly dry with good malt and carmel flavors. I liked this beer and buy it often. Great with steak!!!!

12 oz bottle via Liquid Solutions. Pours a hazy amber with a small head. Nose is strong and spicey with notes of pepper, ginger, and alcohol. Tastes like is smells with a somewhat metaalic cardboardy aftertaste. Pretty good and would be real winnder if the aftertaste were better...

On tap at Pike in Seattle. Caramelly in color. Aroma was pretty light; with some caramel and peat, but not much. Flavor was smoky, peat, caramel. A bit harsh on the palate, which was a bit detracting. Still it was ok.

500 ML bottle. Pours dark with a smallish head. Aroma is malt with a good sweet dirt flavor. Pretty easy going and sessionable despite the 6.6

Bottle. Thanks for sharing Skyview! Lots of grain and malted barley on the nose. I think some more Scotch-like flavors would become more present as it warms. Pours a hazy gold. Lots of malted grain, some caramel and a decent amount of hops on the palate. Medium bodied with good carbonation.

This was a really nice beer and Scotch Ales have been hitting the spot for me this winter. Poured a dark amber hue with a foamy bubbly head. There’d better be some nice alcoholic sweetness on the nose to any good Scoth Ale and this one did not disappoint. Mouthfeel was smooth and tingly with apple, peach, scotch, malty flavours cascading over the senses genlty and settling me into a nice state to slumber like a bear.
