| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Sep 25, 2001 Copper color with a thin white head that doesn’t last long. Malty, a little sweet and hoppy good beer but too dry and hoppy for the style. I still like this beer. Good work! bb (2930), Martinez, California, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 21, 2002 Kind of dry with a sour aftertaste, but has a good robust selection of smokey flavors. Perhaps not as ’chewy’ as it could be, but a good hop-flavor and charecter. jsquire (2113), St. Marys, Ohio, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 27, 2003 Copper orange in color with a thin, white head and a thin, winey nose. Grainy malt flavor that tastes like it is supposed to be smokey but isn't. Sweet, alcoholic beer. I'm not a big Scottish Ale fan, but this just okay regardless. austinpowers (2828), New York, New York, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 28, 2005 This beer is HOPPY! Like, as in, IPA hoppy! Beware. Pretty sweet malts in there, but the alcohol burn is substantial and, given the sweetness, you’d think it was 8% abv, not 6.7%. Anyhoo, this beer is indeed lightly smoked and has some woodiness to it. If you’re into that sort of thing (I’m not particularly), then go for it. Bitterness lingers on the tongue. kyzr (1127), Belgrade, Montana, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 11, 2003 Deeper copper color with an average head from the bottle. This beer is much better on tap at their brew house in Seattle, but that was a few years back, so I'll rate the bottle. Must be drank at 55-59 to let it open up. A little smokey roasted malt with good balace on the hops. Nice finish, not Pikes best, but an alright brew. darn1207 (587), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
