Jan 25, 2008 Pours a three finger white head that fades slowly to thin layer leaving a good lace. Cloudy pale amber color. Light carbonation and light bodied. Slight hoppy nose. Flavor has some malty sweetness but hops dominate which is surprising given that the IBUs are only 34. Lingering bitter aftertaste. $1.45 for a 12oz bottle from John’s Marketplace Portland, OR.

Jan 20, 2008 Draft at Pike, Seattle, WA. White small head that was mostly lasting, decent amount of lacing, transparent, visible carbonation, and a yellow hue. Nose was malty, moderately hoppy and sweet. Flavor was crisp, malty and moderately hoppy. Smooth mouthfeel and medium body. Quaffable, decent brew for the style.

Jan 18, 2008 Pours a nice deep amber gold with a large dense head. Laces very well. Attack is clean and hopy yet lite... crisp is a good word for it. Finishs well. Not bad at all.

Oct 11, 2007 on tap-pours a retaining thin light tan head that laces and yellow/gold color. Aroma is mild citrus. Taste is citrus hops, secondary medium malt. Light/medium body. OK carbonation. Easy drinking.

Oct 9, 2007 Draft at the brewpub. Lightly malty and sweet aroma, some pale grainy notes and faint sugars, a touch of floral hops here as well. Clear pale golden color with an uneven, fine, white head. Flavor is predominantly grainy maltiness, this showing from start to finish, along with a twinge of spicy bitterness and acidic citrus. Some white bread, honey and lightly floral touches here. Finish is fairly dry, clean and snappy with lingering herbal touches. For the style, really not bad.

Oct 6, 2007 Picked up single 12-oz bottle at Bottleworks in Seattle, Washington. Pours a clear golden amber brew with a fast dissolving white head that leaaves behind a white ring . Aroma of ligh bready malt, some grapefruit zest, flowery hops and a touch of biscuit. Taste is light to medium bodied, lightly carbonated with a bready and citrus zest flavor. Finish is slighly bitter that has a lingering bitter aftertaste.

8/18/2007: Pike Naughty Nellie is a nice golden copper color and has a mild to moderate amount of carbonation. The frothy off-white head leaves behind finely speckled lacing. The aroma is a nice orangy citrus with some light toasty malt. The flavor contains a light amount of toffee malt balanced by a mild to moderate level of citrus and pine hop flavor and bitterness. The body is medium-light to medium, but can come across as a tad thin from time to time. This is an easy to drink beer with characteristics similar to those of a good pale ale.
