Commercial Description:
A mildly hopped beer with a complex malt character, and a soft creamy head. Soft and fruity with light yeast esters of apricot and orange. It is a refreshing and crisp session beer, with just enough hops to balance and round out the sweetness of the malt. 34 IBU 1.048 OG

I was expecting pale-lager calber, and I was surprised to find this is more in the pale ale league. Fresh grassy hop aroma jumps out at you, with a little marmalade note too. The palate is clean with just enough bitterness. Very nice indeed.

Another wonderful session beer. Nothing really stands out in the aroma, not very balanced in the carbonation, with a grapefruit like taste with a nice hoppy kick in the mouth. Good flavor all the way through to the end. Light and easy to drink.

Words like "refreshing" and "lightly hopped", when they appear in the brewers description, are usually code words for "lame". This was a pleasent surprise. There was a persistant hop presence, and a grainy malt flavor. In this case Pike's signature sour/tart finish serves the beer well. Not bad at all.

A slightly beclouded amber color on the pour, the head portly in size, frothy in texture and the color an off white, with the residual lace a thin sheet to cover the glass. Aroma of the hops, sweet malt, a bit or a hint of pineapple? Start is sweet and loaded with malt, the top skimpy in feel, finish is lightly acidic, the hops present but mild, dry aftertaste, not sure this beer will get much from me, seems a bit thin-waisted as in watery.

[1094-20080216] Tap @ Pike brewpub (Seattle, WA). Sweet yeasty bread aroma has a hint of fruit. Clear, orange body with a long-lasting creamy white head. Sweet grassy hops flavour has hints of toasted yeast. Grainy medium body. Average.

Bottle pours light golden, slightly hazy, small dishwater like white head, subtle carbonation, with fairly decent lacing.   Light hop aroma, with minor citrus notes.   Forwardly pine like, light hops, but they quickly give way to a very citrusy finish.   A very quick and abrupt finish, with virtually no aftertaste.   Thin body and mouthfeel.   Not offensive, but just not interesting enough.   Probably a great summer thirst quencher tho.

Draught sample at brewpub. Light fresh hops aroma with very light malt and grains. Golden amber clear with white foamy lacing head. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Starts with good grainy taste, fresh hops, and smooth bitter finish. Light sweet beany after. Quite refreshing, and a very nice session beer on tap.

A pretty malty aroma. Flavor isn’t that good but a good crisp hop at the end is nice. Some malts, a little graininess. Just okay.
