Hot and malty with some earthy qualities. Bitterness storms the taste buds. Acidic citrus mops up. A little bit of heat and roast land on the fallout. Finishes bitter and hot. Ecto-cooler aroma, with rising cold fruit. Still amber pour. Carbonation alights in the moth, with a quickly decen malt move into scortching hop heat. The fusels burn over a pile of fuming hop cones. Piney and dry. Fins nips of scotch and tar among the ruins. Bigfoot inspires. Dries nicely and then torches the back of the throat. Will age nicely. AmEricanbrew (1838), Washington DC, USA

Malty sweet pit fruit aroma with some hot alcohol. Medium/heavy body. Pit fruit and caramel sweetness with some dry malt flavor. has a nicely bitter hop alcohol tang to finish. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 27, 2008 12oz bottle from Liquid Solutions, 2006 bottling. Deep copper color, comes out of the bottle fairly thin, as if it had several years of age on it already. Despite what’s advertised, there’s a strongly nutty aroma on this one that seems to suggest anything but a PNW hop bomb of a barleywine. Thin body, slightly sugary, with very little character to the brew. Sure, there’s some hops still there (more present in the bite, as there’s nothing you could really describe as floral or citric) and some yeast in there to hold things together too. But there’s not a whole lot to this one, unfortunately. I’m sitting on a second bottle, so will rerate if appropriate. sneagrams3 (1757), St. Louis, Missouri, USA

Musty cocoa with a touch caramel and apples. Citrus and alcohol. Full bodied sweet and sticky. Nice burn. Nutty toasty flavors. Peppery and bready. Big bitterness but off set by fruity esters. Anise and touch rye. Big hop profile. Citrus grapefruit pepper and resinous hops. Too hop driven, but definitely above par! By far! jake65 (1725), Williston, North Dakota, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 17, 2007 Bottle: Pours a clear orange/amber with a smaller white head that disapated quickly. Damn near bronze, just like the description! Fruity, hoppy aroma with hints of alcohol. Some citrus. Taste is citrus hops with fruits, caramel, and some malt presence. Smooth, warming finish. Quite good. Thanks to Jordan for sharing.
