Aroma is wet paper, lightly medicinal, malty with an odd fresh linen smell. Amber in color, white head, decent lacing. Mouthfeel is on the thin side. Flavor is mostly malty, with a bit of fruits dancing around. Light vanilla notes too. Not a horrible barleywine, and it didn’t give me that overloaded feeling after drinking some of it. It could be a lot more complex, but it’s nothing awful. JB175 (1664), Bucks County, Pennsylvania, USA

Aroma is rather hoppy with some heavy sugar, caramel, and citrus. Flavor retains some heavy hops with some very sweet malts. Nice, but needs some time. Butters (1653), Virginia, USA

Aroma is some ethanol. some long boil caramelization. Some burn in the taste, with some medicinal metallic taste. The slightest hint of oxidation. An OK beer, but brought down by lower drinkability from alcohol presence. kiefdog (1637), Tampa, Florida, USA

Nose was fruity, rich, and slightly hoppy. Flavor was rich caramel, still pretty hoppy, a bit of peat. Pretty nice, but I expected less bitterness. Easy to drink with a light mouthfeel and warming finish. IndianaRed (1562), Boise, Idaho, USA
