Commercial Description:
Named to commemorate the La Salle Hotel, once a Seattle bawdy house and the original home of the Pike Brewing Company. Old Bawdy is a vintage-dated, high-gravity beer brewed with peated Scotch malt. It has a deep golden bronze color, a fruity rich taste, and an aggressive and dominating hop character with smoky undertones that are reminiscent of Scotch whiskey.

Bottle drunk on 5/6 After the goat races!! Hazy orange color with no head and light carbonation. Malty citrus aroma. Malty hoppy taste with some alcohol and sweetness in the middle. Taste like chicken killer but not as sweet.

2007 bottle, 22oz. Pours hazy brownish amber, capped with a medium sized tan head. Aroma is heavy on malt, with notes of earth and peat. Very appealing aroma. Flavor begins with some peat, which is soon joined by caramel malt, toffee, grass, smoke, and mild cocoa. Grapefruit and other citrus fruits hit the palate towards the finish. Citrus and mild peat cling to the palate for a lengthy finish. Nice

Bottle - 2006 Vintage: Cloudy copper color with not much of a head. The aroma is dominated by hops and alcohol. The flavor is hoppy with sweet tones of alcohol followed by a bitter aftertaste and chewable vitamin C flavors and mild shoe polish. Enjoyable! Thanks BückDich for hooking me up with this rare Pike Brewery special.

2007 version.: Dark maple colored with a thin film, off-white head. Sweet, sugary, malty nose. Hoppy, bitter flavor with a sweet, heavy malt backbone. Natural mineral water flavored finish with hops.

12 oz bottle from Yonkers65. Pours a nice, deep, dark copper color. Aroma is light, but there is some nice hop aromas present. Palate is a little thin and lightly carbonated, making this a BW that you can drink easily. Dangerously easy to drink. Flavor is nice, although I would like to see more of the hop flavors stand out. Still damn good though.

Bottle from ericandersnavy... Bomber poured into a snifter. Small head that faded quickly, nice dark red color. Sugary/Malty aroma. Also some nice hops shine through. Taste is malty, touch of fruits, hops, light smoke and even some moss notes. Not thick in texture but definelty above average... Well balanced and easy to sip on. Thanks Eric.

Pours a beige head with legs and a copper-amber color body. Smells of mellow citrus and spice hops, rich caramelized malt. Flavor is the same but with some peat. Finish is brown sugar and a little bitter.

Rated 11/29/2008 (botte labeled 2007): Pours a reddish brown color body, somewhat cloudy body, with a little tan head, somewhat creamy looking. Malty syrupy sweet aroma. Bitter in the nose along with the sickly sweet. Malty soy saucy taste. Some nuttiness. A little smoother in the taste. Some smokiness too. Carbonated, somewhat creamy taste. Some grapefruit.
