Sep 22, 2009 Hazy amber color. It’s a rather simple Barley Wine, actually more as a Strong American Ale; there is surely caramel flavor, but by far not enough body and sweetness and malt; reasonable hopping. Anyway, a good brew.

Dec 13, 2009 Hazy orange with a tiny beige head. Sweet malty aroma with caramel, fruits and hoppy notes. Flavour was malty and had loads og hops, pine and grapefruits. Finished bitter. Not bad.

Jul 8, 2007 (12oz bottle, 2006 Vintage) Hazy amber body topped by small beige head. Aroma is moderately sweet, orange/pine, caramel. Taste is mild sweet, grapefruit/pine, some caramel, alcohol. Fairly dry finish. Fairly smooth medium-full body.

Apr 3, 2008 (Bottle, 2006 vintage) Pours a lightly hazy amber body with a spare off-white head. Aroma of fruit bread, caramel, and toffee. Flavor of toasted and caramel malts, brown sugar, and fruit.

Nov 20, 2008 Bottle… Hazy caramel-colored ale with a small, creamy, white head. The aroma is all about rich, gooey caramel. Full-bodied and chewy with tickling carbonation. Caramel sweetness supersedes grapefruit pith bitterness. Bittersweet finish. <b>Bottle courtesy of mgumby10!</b>

May 21, 2007 Pours a clear golden bronze with a wispy-lacing white head. Aroma of lightly citrusy grapefruity hops with a touch of earthy toasty pale malt. Body starts with decent viscosity and mild caramel sweetness with lots of earthy grapefruity bittering hops. Could use a little more balance, but a decent barleywine.

Aug 12, 2009 My Bottom Line:
Resinous and earthy hops flow over peat smoke, caramel and alcohol heat in this brash yet classic American Barley Wine.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam covers the dark amber.
-The malt flavors were relatively simple.
-I would have preferred more cohesion in the flavor profile; as is, it felt like there were a lot of flavors thrown about.
-This might not be aging too well. I’ll have to taste a fresher version to see if that’s what I prefer in this brew.

Apr 21, 2007 2006 bottle. Pours light amber with a sparse thin head. Smells malty with some fruity hints. Tastes bitter with a pronounced resiny presence and lots of tangy malt. Mouthfeel is a little this with a bitter finish. The alcohol is very perceivable on this and clashes with the hops and malt at times.
