Commercial Description:
Named to commemorate the La Salle Hotel, once a Seattle bawdy house and the original home of the Pike Brewing Company. Old Bawdy is a vintage-dated, high-gravity beer brewed with peated Scotch malt. It has a deep golden bronze color, a fruity rich taste, and an aggressive and dominating hop character with smoky undertones that are reminiscent of Scotch whiskey.

Bomber. 07 Vintage. Pours a brownish red color with a thin white head. Aroma is mostly fruit. Tastes of typical caramel, dark fruit, and some hop. Palate is a little thin with some sweet sugary feeling. Alcohol is present. Thanks to OldMrCrow for this one.

from old notes: 12oz bottle I got to go from pike bar by the fish market in seattle. yeast, honey, floral and alcohol aroma. good balanced barley wine. tough comparison right now - just been drinking doggie claws at hair of the dog brewery - think this was pretty good though.

2007 Bottle. Pours an ultra thick viscousness, with a very tight, creamy, light brown head that leaves good lacing. Hazy amber body with a few particles floating. Decent retention. Aroma is room filling, sticky-sweet caramel, pine and pitted fruits. Taste is a bit toasty upfront, strong alcohol, piney, caramel and very sticky overall. Some berries, smoke and a bitter more bitterness as it warms. Mouthfeel is super syrupy, and again, sticky, nearly chewy mouthfeel... like maple syrup. Very warming. Nearly to sticky and warming to be enjoyable...nearly. 12oz might be better than the 22oz bomber I had.

Bottle at Brouwers. Very nice barley wine that has its own flavor with peaty hop overtones. Spicy, holiday, sweet malty sugars. Touch under carbonated maybe. citrus and bread. Nice

Bottle, thanks to Bu11zeye for this. Poured a cloudy gold with off white head. Sweet malty aroma with slight aroma hops for a slight floral scent. Taste was sweet malt and alcohol spice. Overall, a very nice beer.....would have again.
