Apr 8, 2008 Vintage 2007. 22oz bottle courtesy of Travisd13. Pours a rather brilliant reddish/amber color with very little off-white head, no lace. Smells slightly of spicey malts but mostly of fruity hops, not overpowering but nice. Taste is very hoppy but not the spicey kind of sweet hops you get with most BW’s. This is a mellow red fruity hoppiness with the spicey malts kicking in on the finish. Medium body, very smooth. Mellow but sufficient carbonation.

Oct 4, 2008 bottle, a thick orange to brown pour, head is creamy tan and nose is very caramel fruity, flavors of bread, caramel sugar, fruit cocktail with a peaty alcohol finish, very nice

Jun 17, 2009 Bottle shared with the guys courtesy of ScottyP from his trip to Austin. Hazy amber pour with floating particulates and light tan ring of head. Roasty, peaty, earthy, smokey. A little warming booziness. Resiny pine and grassy hop finish. Great Barleywine

Appearance: Pours a dull auburn with a pinstripe of white around the top of the glass. You cannot see through this beer, but you will be able to spot a few bubbles dancing to the top.
Aroma: Apricot, peach, toffee, pear,caramel, gingerbread, and a bit of salt water.
Taste: Apple cider at first, followed by caramel, chocolate, and finishes with a spicy hop finish.
Mouthfeel: Thick and syrupy and sticky. The bitterness lingers on the tongue and leaves a feeling I associate with milk chocolate.
Overall: This beer aged very well. I can see the oxidation creeping up, so I would say I got to drink this beer at its peak.

Sep 9, 2009 Mahogany color, rather cloudy with tan head. Malt presence dominates subdued aroma. Molasses and oak present in flavor. Esters contribute nice, smooth mouthfeel. Taste is stronger in the beginning.

Feb 17, 2007 Bottle: Pours a clear orange/amber with a smaller white head that disapated quickly. Damn near bronze, just like the description! Fruity, hoppy aroma with hints of alcohol. Some citrus. Taste is citrus hops with fruits, caramel, and some malt presence. Smooth, warming finish. Quite good. Thanks to Jordan for sharing.

Jul 14, 2009 Pours a beige head with legs and a copper-amber color body. Smells of mellow citrus and spice hops, rich caramelized malt. Flavor is the same but with some peat. Finish is brown sugar and a little bitter.

May 25, 2009 Pours a dark a murky dark amber with beige head. Aroma of caramel malt, dark/dried fruit, Similar taste, pretty boozy, but a nice bitter malt finish. Very solid barley wine.
