Commercial Description:
Named to commemorate the La Salle Hotel, once a Seattle bawdy house and the original home of the Pike Brewing Company. Old Bawdy is a vintage-dated, high-gravity beer brewed with peated Scotch malt. It has a deep golden bronze color, a fruity rich taste, and an aggressive and dominating hop character with smoky undertones that are reminiscent of Scotch whiskey.

07 bottle courtesy Blutt59. Reddish brown pour with a thick tan head. Big hop dominant aroma with hints of smoke and caramel. Thick mouth feel with lots of malt, but grapefruit style hops are still very dominant after two years. Bitterness has dyed down a little, seems like the perfect time to drink this.

Bottle from ericandersnavy... Bomber poured into a snifter. Small head that faded quickly, nice dark red color. Sugary/Malty aroma. Also some nice hops shine through. Taste is malty, touch of fruits, hops, light smoke and even some moss notes. Not thick in texture but definelty above average... Well balanced and easy to sip on. Thanks Eric.

Bright amber with small white head. Aroma of flowers, hops, malt. Nice bitter flavor throughout, especially apparent in the finish. Like an IPA but darker and more mellow. A winner.

1998 Bottle - Thanks wildaho! - Pours a thick brown with very little head...aroma is sweet, sweet malt, dark fruits, light charred wood...flavour is roasty malt, grape must, honey, and a bit grainy/granular on the end, like it’s on its last legs...had an enjoyable vinous quality, good to experience...

Bottle at Brouwers. Very nice barley wine that has its own flavor with peaty hop overtones. Spicy, holiday, sweet malty sugars. Touch under carbonated maybe. citrus and bread. Nice

Bottle, thanks to Bu11zeye for this. Poured a cloudy gold with off white head. Sweet malty aroma with slight aroma hops for a slight floral scent. Taste was sweet malt and alcohol spice. Overall, a very nice beer.....would have again.
