Oakes (6853), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Jul 10, 2001 Updated: Mar 20, 2005Amber colour, golden highlights, slight haze. Rich, cologne-like nose...a little more phenolic than it needs to be and a lot more phenolic than I remember it. The flavour is moderately bitter, a little woody, phenolic, with some malts in the background. Finish is dry and woody. Not the sublimely executed APA it once was. kp (6200), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2007 Date: 01/21/1996

duff (5404), Sydney, Australia, Surrey, England Jun 19, 2004 Tap@Pike. A fairly easy going pale ale. Aromatic hops of course. Some toast and toffee, with a lemony finish, a bit more English than American? Pretty spot on as far as pale ales go, just not overly interesting. harrisoni (5121), Ashford, Kent, England Oct 16, 2006 On tap at Pike Pub, Seattle. Amber, beige lasting head. Sweet orange tasting malt. Quite agile in mouth. Malty aroma, a little earthy. Quite full malt in mouth biscuit/nutty. Good balance of malty hop on finish. Malty pale ale. Drinkable if a little sweet. CaptainCougar (4633), Rockville, Maryland, USA Nov 17, 2006 Bottle courtesy of kenb: Pours a hazy copper bronze with a thin, wispy coating of white head. Aroma has a subtle caramel toasty maltiness and a decent amount of green grapefruity hops. Body starts lightly sweet revealing some more hoppy bitterness and flavor toward the crisp, bittersweet finish. A nice, very drinkable APA.
