jbrus (4632), Delft, Netherlands May 7, 2009 Tap@Brewpub. Strong banana aroma with some lemon. Hazy, dark yellow colour, white head, good lace. Sweetish, banana, hint of grapefruit, bitter for a Weizen.
Pours a slightly hazy light copper amber with a fairly apathetic little off-white head. Big sour wheat nose with plenty of banana yeast esters and clove notes as well. Homebrew tried it and pointed out that too many american brewers refuse to believe that hefeweizen yeasts can work well at 62-64F, so they leave them out at 74-76 and they go bonkers, leaving behind way too many esters in the process. Interesting point. The body’s creamy and medium, plenty more of the banana and clove plus sour yeast on the mid-palate. It’s a clean enough little beer but they probably need to rethink the philosophy behind their fermentation. CheersMate1 (609), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Jan 9, 2009 This beer is not that great at all! I do not recommend this beer. Had a VERY mild wheat taste.
I was drunk while drinking this, and I couldn’t taste a freaking thing! I was trying to taste the banana,
clove, or wheat flavor and you know what I tasted? Nothing! This draft was very mild and disappointing. The
color was different. It didn’t have that yellow type of color that I was expecting! Booh! Anyways, not a great
experience for me. I visited the brewery/pub and it was great, but this beer not so much. Very light malt flavors.
Honestly, I was disturbed that they called this a wheat beer. Nik925 (259), California, USA Sep 2, 2008 Great wheat flavor shines through constantly. Great carbonation. Yeast flavors a bit too mild. Strong cereal flavors. A decent hefe. Angeloregon (2023), Portland, Oregon, USA Jul 28, 2008 On tap at Pike Place in Seattle, WA--Poured a hazy rugged light golden body. Soft fruity esters with a touch of bittering hops and nutty yeast. Not too bad. anders37 (3951), Malmö, Sweden Jul 17, 2008 Draught @ the brewpub. Pours a hazy golden color wuth a small white head. Fruity malty aroma with hints of citrus. Fruity and very wheat malty flavor with hints of citrus. Has a fruity malty finish with more of the citrus in the aftertaste. pinkzambia (951), Boise, Idaho, USA Jun 30, 2008 Tap: Clear yellow-gold color with not much head. Not that impressive, but not offensive either. Light and crisp. Not really my favorite style.
