Commercial Description:
A full-bodied beer with deep chocolate color, velvety malt texture, and a dark-roasted flavor, with hints of smokiness and coffee. It combines the dryness of traditional Dublin-style stout with the strength and character of Imperial Stout.

Thanks to Skyveiw for sharing another tick off my want list. Nice brown body with roasted oatmeal nose. Similar flavor but with a coffee flavor and faint chocolate. Really nice.

Bottle, at London Shindig, August 2007. Now this is more like it. Good dark colour with a big beige head. Lots of roast malt. Enough coffee and chocolate to add interest without dominating. Plenty of bitter hops to enhance the drinkability. Beautifully balanced and just a really nice stout all round. The beer of the day.

Roasted aroma, which itself is not very impressive. The flavor however, is complex and exceptional. There is sweet malt and roasted grain. Considerable smoke. Fairly thick on the palate and undercarbonated. Quite good.

(bottle, thanks Skyview) Pours black with a dark tan head. Aroma is somewhat subdued, but there is some dark chocolate and roasted malt present. Taste is of roasted malt with dark chocolate, with a coffee bitterness on the finish. Not bad, but a little thin.

[Bottle, thanks Skyview] Pours dark brown with a dark tan head. Aroma is light hops, roasted malt, some chocolate, leather maybe?. Taste is hoppy, long roasted taste. Slightly bitter at the end. Thin with a long finish. Average, but too hoppy for my liking.

Chris O, August 2007. Black with a light brown, big and lasting head. Roast aroma with notes of licorice. Roast and dry flavour, with a nice burned aftertaste. Tasted again Nov. 24 at thewolf. Upped the numbers a little, much the same notes, with an addition of a hint of smoke in the aroma.
