Commercial Description:
A full-bodied beer with deep chocolate color, velvety malt texture, and a dark-roasted flavor, with hints of smokiness and coffee. It combines the dryness of traditional Dublin-style stout with the strength and character of Imperial Stout.

[Bottle, thanks Skyview] Pours dark brown with a dark tan head. Aroma is light hops, roasted malt, some chocolate, leather maybe?. Taste is hoppy, long roasted taste. Slightly bitter at the end. Thin with a long finish. Average, but too hoppy for my liking.

Chris O, August 2007. Black with a light brown, big and lasting head. Roast aroma with notes of licorice. Roast and dry flavour, with a nice burned aftertaste. Tasted again Nov. 24 at thewolf. Upped the numbers a little, much the same notes, with an addition of a hint of smoke in the aroma.

Bottle @ Chris o shindig 2007. Dark black color with a huge, rocky, excellent lacing, fully lasting, brown head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, chocolate, coffee, rum, vanilla, roasted. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter, salty notes, and with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. ;o))

Bottle at the Chris o shindig. Shiny black, nice fine dark tan head. Black olive aroma, chocolate, dark rum, vanilla--very nice. Clean chocolate flavor, the perfect amount of heat to give it punch. Vanilla. A really well-crafted stout.
