Good dark colour with a big beige head. Lots of roast malt. Enough coffee and chocolate to add interest without dominating. Plenty of bitter hops to enhance the drinkability. Beautifully balanced and just a really nice stout all round. The beer of the day.

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Sep 2, 2007 Roasted aroma, which itself is not very impressive. The flavor however, is complex and exceptional. There is sweet malt and roasted grain. Considerable smoke. Fairly thick on the palate and undercarbonated. Quite good.
