Bottle @ Chris_o shindig 2007. Dark black color with a huge, rocky, excellent lacing, fully lasting, brown head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, chocolate, coffee, rum, vanilla, roasted. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter, salty notes, and with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. ;o))

Bottle at the Chris_o shindig. Shiny black, nice fine dark tan head. Black olive aroma, chocolate, dark rum, vanilla--very nice. Clean chocolate flavor, the perfect amount of heat to give it punch. Vanilla. A really well-crafted stout.

old rating: 7/4/7/4/15 - 3.7 (bottle). looks like crude oil, very small khaki head, good lacing. smell is of espresso, cocoa, and some roasted nuts. taste is bitter, dark chocolate, a hint of coffee, some roasted nuts.

Bottle, chris_o shindig. Very dark brown with a brown head. Nose is burnt espresso malt with a touch of hop and yeast. Slightly sour sherbert. Very gassy mouth with strong chocolate. Some milk chocolate and roasted malts. Burnt aftertaste that lasts. Quite good.

Tap@Brewpub, Apr 09, 3.6: Strong sweet coffee aroma. Black colour, brown head, good lace. Sweet, bitter, roasted, coffee finish. Medium body, nasty bitter finish. Well brewed but not exceptional. Bottled - Chris O shindig 2007 - A black beer with a lovely tan coloured head. The aroma is light roast and good hoppy notes. The taste is full bodied with some great roasted flavours. A little lactic edge late on, and some good fruits. Very nice.

Bottle shared with Your Dark Lord and Landseer. Pours black with a small tan head. Aroma was uncharacteristic of a stout, as it smelled like a belgian ale and pot pourri, with just some faint dark roast. Full bodied, but with a medium texture- not as thick as I was expecting. Flavor of dark roast and coffee, but with very little sweetness. Hoppy and earthy finish. Perhaps this one may have been past it’s prime?

A Mes rate: Bottle at Chris O’s Shindig. Black as night. Rich roasty aroma that is very good indeed. Thick dark chocolate flavour with coffee, vanilla and more roasted malt. Gloriously smooth on the palate. Full bodied stout that is fairly straight down the line but jolly tasty.
