The aroma is richly roasty with light fruitiness and hints of citrusy hop, toast. Smooth as hell, with gorgeous Belgian chocolate notes, cream, vanilla sugar, Yunnan coffee. Most of the bitterness is roast it seems. Great foreign style bb (2905), Martinez, California, USA

This was what I am looking for in a Stout. Black and huge roastyness. I loved the overall flavor and you just got this one right. The body I needed a fork to finish. Hello awesome Stout in my book. tiggmtl (4310), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jul 12, 2005 Vinous grapes and cocoa in the aroma. Opaque dark brown with ow brown-tan head that lasts nicely and leaves some sudsy lacing. Roasted malts are overwhelming with very little residual sweetness of a powdery cocoa-like nature. Medium body is fairly dry and well-attenuated. Bottle sampled with MartinT, Olivier_MTL and Rastacouere. bu11zeye (5442), Frisco, Texas, USA

Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, sausage, and fruit. Flavor of chocolate, roasted malt, fruit, and hops. Unique stout.
IslandHaole (1035), Onna-Son, Okinawa-Ken, Japan
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 9, 2005 A deep dark Black hole, sucks light out of the room it’s so dark. Frothy tan head. Very rich, dark unsweetened chocolate, coffee, light floral & earthy undertones. A nice creamy feel with the flavor of bittersweet cocoa blended with yesterdays coffee that’s been reheated, served in a wooden mug. It sounds odd but it blends nicely into a full flavored tasty stout. I was lamenting that I missed it in Seattle and when I returned to Japan, I had this in a package waiting for me! Thanks for this one Josh! Rastacouere (5552), Montréal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 5, 2005 Nice foamy light brown head covers the deep dark brown hue. Candyish and spicy nose. Rich dark malts have minty and thyme-like vapors. You can tell it’s gonna feel creamy from the nose. Surprisingly, hops are not a big factor in this one, gentle cocoa roastiness are paired with an effective and complex nut array to create a globally spicy flavour profile. As weird as it sounds, I feel this would pair well with asiatic food. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, smooth texture.
