Commercial Description:
A full-bodied beer with deep chocolate color, velvety malt texture, and a dark-roasted flavor, with hints of smokiness and coffee. It combines the dryness of traditional Dublin-style stout with the strength and character of Imperial Stout.

From a 22-oz. bottle. A wonderful looking thick black body with shades of red. Rocky brown-grey head. Flavors of roasty chocolate and mildly bitter dark fruits. Smooth silken texture that is easy drinking and quite mellow.

Draft at Brouwer’s Cafe Hopfest ’06. Opaque black with a light tan head. Aromas of coffee and dark chocolate. Full, oily body. The taste starts lightly sweet with coffee, chocolate, burnt toast, roasted nuts, but cleans up on the bitter and slighty smokey finish.

22oz bottle from bottle trek. Pours opaque with a medium sized milk chocolate head, some lacing. Great nose dominated by toffee, black licorice, and coffee grounds. Flavor had some smoke, leather, chocolate and dark fruits. A great stout!

<22 oz. bottle from LS - Pours the blackest beer I’ve seen. Average tan head. Light lacing. Has a nice roasted coffee aroma and flavor. Flavor is quite bittter. Mouthfeel is dry. Medium body. A good beer, but just a little to bitter for me.

Bottle in trade from thethrone. Thanks man! Pours black with a nice creamy tan head. Smell is dark roasted malt, coffee, a touch of burnt ashiness, some dark chocolate and and some creaminess as well. Very nice. Taste is very much along the lines of the smell with some bitter dark chocolate, burnt malt and rich dark, dry coffee flavors abound. Just a slight twinge of faint fruitiness near the end, but bitterness takes it over and lingers subtly in the end. Very flavorful for what it is, and a solid mouthfeel and drinkability. Very nice stout.

A pitch black pour with creamy tan head and lace. Large roasted malt aroma with light chocolate and coffee. An almost licorish hint with a medium malt bitter and a bit of nice warmth. Medium/full bodied with very nice carbonation.

Black with a tan head. Medium strong smell of blackned malts and roasted nuts. Full bodied and very smooth. Rich, strong black malt and coffee flavor here is chalky dry without much sweetness. Has a lingering burnt malt bitterness to finish. 21107
