Commercial Description:
A full-bodied beer with deep chocolate color, velvety malt texture, and a dark-roasted flavor, with hints of smokiness and coffee. It combines the dryness of traditional Dublin-style stout with the strength and character of Imperial Stout.

22 oz bottle. Near black with a spongy tan head. Nose is cocoa, molasses, espresso and raisin. Mmmm. Body a bit thin but develops some richness. Faint carb. Taste is dark roast and chocolate caramel. Coffee bean finish with grapefruit.

Thick black pour with a creamy tan head. Lots of dark fruit, soy sauce, roasted grain and chocolate aroma. Smooth chocolate taste with hints of dark fruit. Slightly bitter chocolate aftertaste. Really nice stout.

22 oz bottle. Thanks to drewbeerme for sharing this on Memorial Day. I’ve been wanting to try this one for quite awhile. Pours a brown black color with a creamy brown head. Roasted malts, chocolate and a touch of smoke in the aroma. The body is a little watery. Roasted and slighlty ashy malts are dominating the palate. Light bakers chocolate flavors with charred malt, hops, and molasses in the finish. Decent beer, especially for a standard stout. I’d like to see them try to imperialize this.

22 oz bomber via Ken. Pours a pitch black color with an enormous creamy thick brownish beige head. Aroma is malty with strong roasted coffee bean saturation. Taste is much like the scent-roasted coffee beans, malt and a smidgen of charcoal smoke. Kind of watery. Leaves a nice coffee aftertaste.

bottle from trade with 5000. Good aroma, bitter. Baking chocolate, anise/licourice, little smoky, vineous. Brownish black color, 1st pour had a small head with minor lace. 2 pour I dumped alittle more and got a better head, still minor lace. Bitter flavor. largely the vine coming through, maybe even a steely bitterness. Medium body, creamy smooth mouthfeel, bitter finish. Likeable stout. though it’s bitterness made the flavor very one sided, not alot to lock onto.

Courtesy ChzMan. Dark brown, tan head. Typical, but mild, stout flavors and aromas- roasted malt, cocoa, coffee. All rather muted. Medium/full body, balanced, very drinkable. Too strong to session, not enough going on to sip. Meh. From notes.

Got a bottle of the new batch.Aroma of roastedness and expresso, but not that strong, taste a whole different story; thick almost porter like big taste heavy on the coffee side. Its either very smooth or very low carbonated. Not to sweet. Will buy it if its around here, but probaly wouldn't pay for shipping again

Pours attractive deep brown with no head. Chocolate mainly in the nose and flavor, with an undesirable chalky influence.
