Commercial Description:
A full-bodied beer with deep chocolate color, velvety malt texture, and a dark-roasted flavor, with hints of smokiness and coffee. It combines the dryness of traditional Dublin-style stout with the strength and character of Imperial Stout.

Thanks to drewbeerme for sharing this beer. Opaque black with a big creamy head. Aroma is big and creamy with a nice tan head. Aroma is roasty and slightly chalky but nice chocolate and smokiness as well. Dull powdered chocolate is the first thing that hits my tongue but the flavor is rounded out by a nice dry roasted grains, smoke and carmelized sugar. Medium body wtih nice carbonation. Not the most exciting stout I’ve ever had, but nice and drinkable none the les.

Beer pours opaque with a retained dark tan colored head. Aroma is very roasty/nutty with coffee and hops. Flavor is cold coffee and tons of roasted flavors, some smoke and more coffee. Palate is very smooth. No rough edges. Very easy to drink, flavorful beverage.

Bonus from MaltOMeal a while back. Distinct prune and molasses aromas. Flavor is slightly fruity but mostly roasted malt. A hint of some cocoa in the flavor and a bit of a chalky texture. Finish is a bit too hopped up and bitter but that won’t force me to pour this one out.

This is an excellent stout. Opaque dark brown with a thick brown head. Aroma of malt and roast. Flavor is somewhat bitter, but comfortably bitter. Thick malty mouth feel. Dry finish. Thanks Buck_Dich!

Bottle poured black with a thin brown head and lacing and oily skim on surface of beer. Light aroma of coffee and roasty malts. Flavor of tobacco, burnt wood and roasty malts with a medium heavy body and rich mouthfeel.

Bottled. Beer is opaque, dark brown wih a small, light brown, frothy, diminishing, mostly lasting head. Aroma is very roasty. Malty with moderate-to-heavy notes of roasted grain, chocolate, coffee and molasses; Hoppy with a moderate note of resin; Yeasty with a trace-to-light note of dusty basement. Miscellaneous light woody note, trace of dried currents/raisin. The flavor is heavily sweet, moderately bitter with a long, lightly bittersweet, trace acidic finish. Nice palate: The body is full, the texture is velvety and the carbonation is lively. Seems more like an Imperial Stout than a standard Stout. Nice richness.

Bottle from Batkins, thanks again Bill. Pours a deep dark brown-black with layer of rich tan foamy head. Roasty toasty malts with flavors of bitter dark chocolate and roasted coffee beans.A very nice brew indeed but just felt thin and a bit watery.
